“The crisis caused first by the pandemic, and then by the war in Ukraine, has greatly complicated our activities as well as all other local governments. However, we do not give up. Our priority has been and still is investing in the county and improving the quality of life of the residents. And despite the adversities, it succeeds “- says the starost of Rzeszów, Józef Jodłowski.

Rzeszów Poviat is one of the most dynamically developing local government units. The activities of the local authorities are aimed primarily at creating the best conditions for the economic development of the region and the development of the existing infrastructure in this area.

The flagship investment of the Rzeszów Poviat is the project of the Science and Technology Park in Rzeszów, which has been successfully implemented for 10 years. It is a sensation on a national scale, when the local government creates from scratch a place where the largest international companies invest and contributes to the creation of jobs in its area.

It is no coincidence that “Dworzysko” is often called the “economic heart of the region”. The zone, opened in 2014, covers 83.42 hectares of land, fully prepared for investment. Excellent location and better and better communication (neighborhood of motorway 4, express road S-19, national road E-371, proximity to Rzeszów-Jasionka airport) are an incentive for investors.

So far, most of the available land has been sold to investors. Already 12 companies operate in the area of “Dworzysko”.

Another 4 have completed construction and are preparing to start operations, while the remaining companies are under construction. Currently, 58 plots of land have been sold to 35 investors. The total value of investments located in the park is nearly PLN 800 million.

More companies have recently announced investments in “Dworzysko”. One of them is Knorr-Bremse Systemy Kolejowe Polska sp. – o.o. – a world leader in the market of braking systems and other systems for rail and utility vehicles. The company has built a facility with an area of approx. 23,000 square meters, of which approx. 19,000 m is a production hall, and 4,000 m is office space. The start of production activity is planned for January 2023, at least 350 people will find work here. The concern’s plans assume the expansion of the service center here in the near future and the expansion of the plant’s area by up to 35,000 square meters.

In October, the entry to “Dworzysko” was announced by Hydro-Met, a company operating in the water and sewage industry. It performs mechanical ventilation installations. The company plans to build a production hall with office space and storage space in the park. A little earlier, the plot here was purchased by CHDE Polska S.A.,

“Interest in the park exceeded our expectations. Already today, the companies present here employ about two thousand people. We hoped that approximately 3,500 people would find work in Dworzysko, but we already estimate that there will be 4,000 jobs in total” – says Waldemar Pijar, Secretary of the Rzeszów Poviat, Project Coordinator of the “Rzeszów-Dworzysko” Science and Technology Park.

In 2022, the budget expenditure of the Rzeszów Poviat is planned at almost PLN 250 million. A significant part of them has been or will be absorbed by investments, especially road investments. Some of the major projects completed this year include: connector of the S19 expressway with the national road No. 19, 1st stage of construction of the connector from the A4 motorway to the Rzeszów-Rzeszów Północ junction.

Part of the investment was possible thanks to the injection of government funds. And so, thanks to a subsidy from the Government Road Development Fund, it was possible to start works on, among others, in the reconstruction of the poviat road Błażowa – Piątkowa – Harta, poviat roads in the Dynów commune and the poviat road from the borders of Rzeszów to the railway line No. 2091. The list of this year’s investments also included the reconstruction of the bridge over the Potok in Piątkowa, the bridge in Futoma, as well as the reconstruction of 11 crossings for pedestrians.

In this year’s budget, significant funds have also been reserved for investments in utility facilities belonging to the Poviat and its subordinate units, e.g. reconstruction of the building at ul. Siemieński in Rzeszów. The funds for the modernization of this building were obtained by the District from the Government Strategic Investment Program as part of the Polish Order. The investment will be adapted to the needs of the poviat authorities – the Poviat Family Support Center and the Psychological and Pedagogical Counseling Centre. Thanks to this modernization, these units will obtain better conditions to fulfill their mission – to care for the most needy inhabitants of our region.

As for other investments, works are continued on the redevelopment of the buildings of the School Complex in Tyczyn (with the support of the Minister of Finance, Funds and Policy
