The leader of the rail industry, Knorr-Bremse has invested in a modern production and service facility with an area of 23,000 sq m. m2 in the Science and Technology Park in the Economic Activity Zone “Rzeszów-Dworzysko” managed by the Rzeszów Poviat. A minimum of 350 people will find work here.
Knorr-Bremse is a world market leader in brake systems and other systems for rail and commercial vehicles. The Knorr-Bremse Group in Poland is represented by Knorr-Bremse Systemy Kolejowe Polska Sp. z o.o. based in Krakow. For 23 years, the company has been the main supplier of the Group’s innovative products to the Polish market. Only in 2021, the company delivered products and services worth about PLN 270 million to the country, participating in the largest rail vehicle construction projects in Poland.
A new plant was built
Due to the dynamic development of the company in Poland, it decided to build a large plant.

The new plant is located in the Science and Technology Park in the Rzeszów-Dworzysko Economic Activity Zone. The facility covers an area of approximately 23 thousand. m2, of which over 19 thousand. m2 is a production hall, and 4 thousand. m2 is office space. The facility is scheduled to start operating in January 2023. By 2025, Knorr-Bremse plans to expand and expand the facility’s operations with further specializations. During this time, the service center for braking systems for rail vehicles will also be expanded. In the following years, the plant’s area may be increased to 35,000 sq m. m2.
According to the representatives of the company, the facility located in the Rzeszów-Dworzysko zone has a BREEAM certificate (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), which proves that the building has been adapted to the standards of green construction with the use of modern solutions that translate into high energy efficiency.
The company is looking for employees
The company is currently recruiting intensively for production and production-related positions (nearly 80 percent of the planned personnel).

New jobs will help reduce unemployment in the region. As the company points out, the project will also economically enrich Podkarpackie Province in the area of new technologies and the production of components and assemblies for the transport industry.

Rzeszów-Dworzysko
The investment was built on a rapidly developing area in the north-western part of the Miłocin estate in Rzeszów. The Rzeszów-Dworzysko Zone is a vast area of about 84 ha. The attractiveness of this place is primarily due to its excellent location, as well as modern communication solutions. The zone is located in the immediate vicinity of the A4 motorway, the S-19 expressway and the E-371 national road, approx. 6 km from the international airport. The numbers also prove the prospect of this area. 58 plots of land were sold there, 35 of which were purchased by business owners who decided to invest there.
